Private House
Cardiff
A refurbishment and extension to a mid-terrace house in Cardiff, home to a couple who needed the house to suit their social and work-life needs. The house was tired, unloved and not fit for purpose.
A single storeys rear extension allowed the space at the rear property to be opened and a social kitchen space was created with a small snug with log burning stove, naturally top lite with large roof lights.
The space also provides the ability to work from home with a bespoke Birch timber lined window seat with integrated dog flap for Caddy the beloved pooch . Birch timber cladding featured heavily in the design to create continuity and warmth.
Robust but elegant materials such as Marble worktop and hearth, polished concrete tiles and brick feature wall. The same brick has been used to construct the extension.
A quaint but social court yard garden space flows directly from the kitchen snug.
“Jordan was the ideal architect for us. He tuned into our taste and desires with ease, immediately producing drawings and suggestions that incorporated our thoughts and opened our mind to things that hadn’t crossed our mind.
Throughout the process Jordan was adaptable and good natured so it felt like a true collaboration.
We would highly recommend his work as we are now living in our home that provides us, our family and our friends with pleasure on a daily basis”
